When Sober Living Homes Aren’t an Option

We’ll be the first to admit that for some people, a 24/7 sober living environment may not be the most practical living arrangement. If a recovering addict is a parent of young children, for example, it may be difficult to drop everything and move into a sober living home.

There are also some career situations, school situations and other circumstances that make it difficult to live with others outside of your family. You don’t want to disturb your housemates with your hectic schedule, or you don’t want to wake them up when you leave for the graveyard shift at your job. There are lots of reasons why you may not be inclined to move into sober living homes during your recovery.

We understand that, and it’s the reason why Homes of Promise offers a weekly activity that is open to recovering addicts throughout the Los Angeles area. We call it Friday Night Light, and it’s a free dinner and recovery study that we hold every Friday night!

Not only is this a free weekly opportunity to socialize with others who can relate to your struggles; it’s also an environment that welcomes your children and family. Here are the details on our weekly Friday Night Light event:

When: Every Friday Night

Where: Homes of Promise – Izzy’s Place, 2707 N. White Avenue in La Verne, CA 91750

What: A free dinner (donations are accepted), worship time and recovery study – followed by sharing, socializing and coffee/dessert

How: You can reserve your space or get more information by calling Michelle Jumper Adamyk at (909) 767-8889.

If you think you may benefit from this Christ-centered option, held inside the sober living homes of Homes of Promise – Izzy’s House every Friday, call us today to reserve your spot. We welcome you and your family to join us anytime!
